I'm going to start this thread off as a short rendition of what I plan to have, I'll add to it over time to make it more simple to read.
Breeding
1. Rules of breeding (beyond the obvious)
-If two different species with the same egg group breed, It will produce the female's form
-The female has a much larger chance at passing down the ability it has, while the male is much often more random (helpful if you want to keep it's hidden ability)
-Power items as a hold item on the parent guarantees that stat's iv being passed down a generation
-An everstone as a hold item on the parent guarantees that parent's nature being passed down a generation
-A destiny knot as a hold item on the parent guarantees that between both parent's 12 combined stats, (hp/att/def/satt/sdef/spd for each parent) 5 of them will be passed down a generation
for example- the offspring from two perfect iv parents (both 31/31/31/31/31/31) will have a 1 in 31 chance of having a perfect child (expecting one parent holds an everstone and the other a destiny knot)
-Flame body and magma armor will half the time it takes to hatch an egg
-Egg hatching o-powers will work in tangent with flame body to decrease the time it takes to hatch an egg even more.
---There are more tricks and subtleties but for now this is what I'll have up---
2. Rules of effort value training (all examples are assumed and calculated for competitive battling at lv 100)
-Vitamins will give you 10 EVs in a particular stat
-A macho brace will double the amount of EVs obtained in battle
-A power item will increase EVs obtained by a pokemon in battle by 4
-Having pokerus will double the amount of EVs obtained in a battle (after power items/macho brace)
-The exp share now shares the same amount of EVs to each pokemon in the party, thus allowing a fully party to be EV trained at once
-EVs increase a stat by 1 point ever 4 EVs acquired
-EVs are now capped at 252, preventing the previously known 3 wasted EVs
-EVs still go up to 510, thus there are still two left over
-Every pokemon has an EV reward for defeating it, look it up to find which pokemon offers what values.
***Be aware how EVs affect a stat. Every 4 EVs that a pokemon acquires, the stat is bumped up one point.
for example- If your pokemon had 100 points in attack, and you finished a battle that got you 10 EVs in attack without leveling up, your attack stat will be 102. If you fully train your att stat with 252 EVs, the stat would have 163.
Things needed:
-Power items
-Pokemon with sweet scent (preferably gloom)
-Pokemon with pokerus
-Exp share turned on
-Pokemon with a full board sweeping move (surf, earthquake, dazzling gleam)
EV training, if done efficiently, can now be done in 10-15 minutes. or even less. When combined with the power item and pokerus, the yeild is much greater than normal battling.
for example- If you were to simply battle bellsprouts all day, you would get 1 attack for ever bellsprout defeated, which would take 252 bellsprouts to max your attack. If you put a power item on, you increase the yeild by 4, putting the EV cout to 5 for every bellsprout defeated, which would take 51 bellsprouts to max your attack. If you have pokerus and the power item on, your yeild would doubble from the previous 5, to 10 per bellsrpout, which would take 26 bellsprouts to max your attack. Because hoard battles are now available in x and y, you can get 10 EVs for every bellsprout defeated, putting the total to 50 EVs per battle, which would take 4 battles, and one extra bellsprout to max your attack.
Locations to EV train:
-HP: route 5, gulpin 50 EVs
-Att: route 14, bellsprout 50 EVs
-Def: route 18, geodude 50 EVs/ occasionally durant 60 EVs
-Satt: frost cavern, vanillite 50 EVs
-Sdef: route 7, Hoppip 50 EVs
-Spd: route 8, Wingull 50 EVs
more to be added eventually -_-
