Since I haven't yet formally introduced myself to anyone, I might as well do it now.
My name is Nick (my in-game name...who'd have thought?) and I'm 22 years old. I just graduated from college this past December and, though I currently work full-time in food service, I'm looking for work. I'm trying to break into the web design industry primarily, but I also wouldn't mind getting into editing, publishing, communications, or technical writing.
I'd love to design professionally, so right now along with work and running EPL I'm also working on a web portfolio to try and find work. I'm going to make a couple mock websites just to prove my capabilities to potential employers, so hopefully I'll be able to start doing what I love for a living! Finally. As you might imagine, I'm really tired of food service (been in it for almost 8 years) so I'm really excited to move forward, however I think the initial switch from manual labor to more mental and thoughtful work will be quite the transition. I'm ready for it, though.
Being a budding designer, I'm really interested in tech: computers, tablets, smartphones, gaming (surprise!), you name it--it's all interesting to me. I love tinkering with things to make them look and function differently (for this reason I'm team Android ).
Speaking of gaming, I've been a Nintendo fan my entire life. My dad introduced me to the original Super Mario Bros. and Legend of Zelda for NES and, from there, he lost me. I've owned quite a few game consoles, most of them being Nintendo. Currently I'm using my 3DS the most (obviously) and I'll usually only load up my 360 for Skyrim and the occasional Halo game but, aside from that, I'm primarily on my DS as of late.
Well, in an effort to end my rambling, I'll stop here. If you have any questions, shoot!
